wsalam Norman,I can suggest that u venture Centraal Station in Amsterdam.There are bustling markets and souvenir shops sprouting all over. Often they are open abt 8am-5pm.Some fish shops are done by Muslims e.g Moroccans (if not, u can ask whether the batter is alcoholic or check on the ingredients e.g what oil or whether animals fats or lard is used.Normally none.)U must try their haring (raw),paling (eel)-smoked and roes (fried), mussels and fish deep fried are mamamia!As for my favourite food, its the restaurant above.There are some halal restaurant listed in the previous posts. For attraactions: I think Anne Frank house is one place to go although it can be a long queue. More on halal food in Amsterdam:

TBB – The Box Bistro has changed – a lot !!
still Halal but now it is table served with no service charge.
Kids meals at 2.90 + free 600 sqf playground.
the menu consists of Fish & Chips and many international favorites + some amazing indonesian influence like Ayam Bakar, Ayam Penyet, Tahu Telur, Gado Gado and its famous Bukit Gado !!

Hi Putri,

I’ve been to weddings that’s catered by this company and yeah the food is pretty sub-standard.

The meat in the over-cooked rendang was all mashed up like minced meat. And some others..

I wonder if u’ll be going to a wedding catered by Puteri Caterers. They’re my favourite in terms of taste & variety.

Indeed the chappati is nice to eat – soft with moisture. I have read this entry and went to the station to try it out and the experience is enjoyable. Most important, the place is cool and you don’t have to sweat while eating.

hi. since this is a quest for Halal food, I wonder if you are so sure that IKEA foodcourt provides halal food. I already checked with the F&B manager, and he confirmed that they did not apply for the halal cert. I wonder where is their sensitivity about this important issue. Most of the customers are muslims. Well, not everyone is concern about halal as one will convinced to eat at one place just because other muslims do it too.

sorry, just asking. I’ve tried the meatballs and the daim cake before I knew about the halal things, they are good. but, it is more important to make sure it is halal as well.
